There’s a nip in the air, and the trees are nearly bare, but Crane’s Mill is still as colorful as ever!

It really is hard to believe that the warm weather months are gone,  and winter and the holidays are on the way.

The changing weather brings to mind one of our favorite resident-run programs: the Crane’s Mill greenhouse. Located in Towne Square just across from the library, the Crane’s Mill greenhouse holds a colorful collection of our residents’ plants and flowers so they can stay in top form all year long.

In 2022, the greenhouse was named for recently deceased resident Bonni Babson. Ms. Babson was an avid gardener throughout her life, and was an active member of the Essex Fells Garden Club. Her thumb remained “green” after moving to Crane’s Mill, as she cared for plants in and around her cottage, and helped many residents as part of the Crane’s Mill greenhouse committee.
